Dr. Kolodenker is an expert in Jones Fracture (5th metatarsal fracture) treatment. A jones fracture is a the metaphyseal-diaphyseal aspect of the 5th metatarsal shaft. This area has very poor blood flow and has a high incidence of non unions and delayed unions. Acute treatment in the active patient is usually with a percutaneous screw. This video goes into the details of a delayed union of a fracture that is not healing. Some of these injuries are misdiagnosed or under-treated. In this case I used an Arthrex Scaphoid locking, compression plate. For more information on Jones Fractures click here.
